Online Blackjack also called twenty one is one of the most popular and exciting games in casino’s and online. The objective being very simple, beat the dealer wit out going over 21. If you go over 21 then you have “busted” and you lose your bet. If the dealer does not reach your total or “busts” then you win.

How To Play Blackjack
The values of each card are pretty simple. Cards two to ten are counted at face value so that if you have a 5 and a 6 your total is an eleven. Any face card has a value of ten. If you were to have a 5 and a king you r total would be 15. The ace card can be considered as one or eleven so that if you have an ace and a five your total would be six or sixteen. Depending on the action you can play with either hand. Any hand that does not have an ace in it is considered a hard hand due to its one value. A hand with an ace is often referred to as a soft hand as the value can change. If you draw over 21 with your soft hand you can play the lower value. The suits of the cards do not have any value in blackjack games and only numerical values are used with scoring hands.

The blackjack table is a semi circle shaped table that has an individual square for each player. The dealer sits across from all the players and deals a set of cards or multi card decks from the shoe. Each player on the table will be dealt two cards face up. The dealer will receive two cards as well but on e of them will be face down. The player to play first is known as the base and the last player to act is called third base. Rule of thumb as a beginner is to assume the dealer has a ten in the hole. Meaning that the card you cant see is a ten.

Player Moves In Blackjack
Hitting is a term used when you would like to request another card from the dealer. To notify the dealer you will tap the table twice. To signal another card repeat the step.

Once you are happy with your hand you will signal the dealer to withhold any more cards. To do so you will wave your hand over your cards.

Doubling down is a term that allows you to double your original bet. After doubling down you can only receive one card from the dealer. Most casinos will let the player double down at any time. Some casinos will only allow the player to double a bet when showing ten or eleven as a hand. To signal a double bet, simply place the same amount of chips next to your original bet. Only double down in favourable positions to you.

Splitting is a term where the player is dealt two similar cards for example two aces. The player is then able to place another bet on the other hand. To signal the dealer that you would like to split, put down another bet next to your original and the deal will spit the cards for you. They will then drop one more card on each hand you will now be playing two separate hands to beat the dealer. If the player wins both hands they get double the money they bet.

Insurance is a team used when the dealer is showing an ace. You can make a bet that is half of your original bet that the dealer has a ten in the hole. If you make the bet and the dealer shows a ten you will be paid 2 to 1 but would lose your original bet.
